Chakra Based Special Abilities

"Special Abilities" are one of the fine lines which separates one Shinobi from another, in terms of skill. These are dependent entirely upon the individual and their talents. These are not genetic traits, nor are they chakra natures. Most of these result from extensive training or through lengthy teaching. There are numerous types of Special Abilities and it is important to discover which one you are most suitable for. However, certain Abilities require you to specialize and train in a certain field before you're eligible to meet the certain requirements to attain those Abilities. Such an instance could include a Special Ability requiring you to specialize in Taijutsu, which would mean that you're character must be physically strong enough in order to attempt training that Ability. Special Abilities fall under two classifications: Physical Based and Chakra Based.

Chakra Based Special Abilities center around the many aspects of a Shinobi's chakra. This is the most versatile category of Special Abilities because of the uniqueness of chakra to each individual Shinobi. Chakra Based Special Abilities are focused on training a Shinobi's unique chakra or type, pushing it to a far greater level. This allows them to execute more powerful techniques, among other things. Nearly all of these Special Abilities require a Shinobi to primarily specialize in the art of Ninjutsu. Those who do typically have more advanced types of chakra such as elemental affinities and manipulation. Some Abilities that fall under this category include increasing the power of a specific elemental chakra affinity, learning to be a Sensory-type Shinobi, controlling one's Chakra Flow. More advanced Abilities within this category allow a Shinobi to train an additional elemental affinity, or access a second Kekkei Genkai, or a Kekkei Tota.  Training Chakra Based Special Abilities can be done in various ways depending on what one is attempting to train. However, most of these Abilities require deep meditation, training and practicing a specific elemental release, or or practicing with chakra control.

Information

  • New characters may only start with a certain number of SA's based on their Shinobi Rank.

    • These starting limits are listed below.



  • There are maximum limits on the amount of SA's a character may have.

    • These maximum limits are listed below.



  • They must also start with the lowest rank of a particular SA. For instance, a new character wants to pick up the Strength Series of Physical Based SAs. They must start with the C-rank Advanced Strength SA, regardless of their Shinobi Rank. This applies to all other 'Series' SA's where multiple ranks are listed.

    • The Full List of 'Series' SA's is listed below.



  • A Shinobi may only advance an SA to a rank that is no more than one rank above his own Shinobi Rank.

    • For example, a Chuunin (B-rank) may only ever advance (train) an SA to A-rank.

Description:
Chakra Control is key to preserving stamina which will increase vitality and enable one to use techniques to their fullest capacity. Chakra Control is essential Ninjutsu specialties, but is heavily coveted in the areas of Medical Ninjutsu and Genjutsu, which require good chakra control in order to perform proficiently. Those with Advanced Chakra Control are able to perform Medical Jutsu and Genjutsu more precisely, thereby reducing the amount of chakra such techniques require. Depending on the rank of this ability the Shinobi will be able to use less chakra to utilize equal or lesser techniques.
D - Chakra costs of Medical Jutsu and Genjutsu of D-rank and below are reduced by 5%
C - Chakra costs of Medical Jutsu and Genjutsu of C-rank and below are reduced by 10%
B - Chakra costs of Medical Jutsu and Genjutsu of B-rank and below are reduced by 15%
A - Chakra costs of Medical Jutsu and Genjutsu of A-rank and below are reduced by 20%

Description:
This classifies the Shinobi as a "Sensory Ninja". The Shinobi is capable of detecting the presence of other people through the utilization of their chakra. Sensors can detect chakra presences from great distance, extending up to 100 meters away. More skillful Sensors are able to differentiate between individuals by their chakra signature alone. A sensor can determine a persons location, chakra capacity, and chakra nature(s). However, a Sensor may not identify an Advanced Nature unless they have previous knowledge of the nature. Otherwise, they will merely sense an 'unknown' chakra.
B-rank may sense chakra presences within a 25 meter radius but cannot distinguish individual signatures
A-rank may sense chakra presences within a 50 meter radius and may distinguish individual signatures and chakra capacity
S-rank may sense chakra presences within a 100 meter radius and may distinguish individual signatures, chakra nature, and capacity

Description:
An Ability possessed by exceptionally skilled Medical Shinobi who wish to improve their healing ability through training. They acquire extensive knowledge in the medical field and of Eijutsu. Their rigorous studying has allowed them to gain expert knowledge in fields such as anatomy, biology, chemistry and toxicology. The potency of their Eijutsu techniques could be considered legendary, as they are able to heal others and themselves at an even faster rate, while being more efficient as well. They are able to heal injuries that others would not dare touch. Their surgical procedures are renowned and their chakra control is flawless. Through their procured knowledge they are able to discern many illnesses and causes of injuries through quick observations and treat them accordingly. With this Ability comes the knowledge in poisons and pathogens. Thus, the medic can also easily identify and create the proper antidote for nearly all poisons with proper supplies.

Description:
Kettou Kekkei or Duel Bloodline is the Special Ability that allows a Shinobi to have two Advanced Natures through Bloodline Limits. This requires that the Shinobi possess three (3) chakra natures. They must also have trained extensively over a long period of time. The Shinobi must also possess an existing Kekkei Genkai. They are then able to use the teaching and art of simultaneous activation of the previous Kekkei Genkai to gain a second one, and formulate jutsu with the second Advanced Element.
A Shinobi may not have more than two (2) Kekkei Genkai.

Description:
Kekkei Tōta or Bloodline Selection is the Special Ability that allows a Shinobi to combine three Chakra Natures, thereby creating an entirely new element. Revered as the most powerful form of a combination element, only a select few Shinobi have ever been able to achieve this level of Advanced Nature Manipulation. This requires that the Shinobi possess three (3) chakra natures. They must also have trained extensively over a long period of time. The Shinobi must also possess an existing Kekkei Genkai. They are then able to use the teaching and art of simultaneous activation of the previous Kekkei Genkai to add the third to the combination, and formulate jutsu with the new Bloodline Selection Advanced Element. However, once they have achieved this technique, their chakra flow harmonizes in such a way so that they are no longer able to fuse their elements in any other way except for the ways in which they are currently able to do so. This simply means that once a Shinobi learns a bloodline selection they are not able to learn any other advanced nature after that. Thus, learning multiple advanced natures beforehand is beneficial.

Description:
With training, meditation, and/or instruction from a Sage, a Shinobi is able to sense, gather, and harness natural energy and enter a physical state known as Sage Mode. While in Sage Mode, the user is able to apply natural energy to their existing Jutsu thus creating Senjutsu (Sage Techniques). There are two types of Sage Mode: Those taught by a Summoning Contract Sage, denoted by the user taking on small physical characteristics of the Summoned Species. Secondly, Innate Sage Mode, in which the user's appearance is only changed by gaining colored marking that adorn their faces and bodies. The appearance is the only trait that sets these two types of Sage Mode apart. Sage mode is limited to the time that it can be active, based upon the time that one spends gather natural energy. For every one (1) post the user makes in which they are completely still, gathering natural energy uninterrupted, they are able to utilize Sage mode for two (2) posts. Furthermore, Sage Mode can only be activated three (3) times in any given thread/battle. Shadow Clones are the only Clone Techniques able to gather natural energy for the original user and are also able to enter Sage Mode. Upon dispersal of a Shadow Clone in Sage Mode, the  user gains the natural energy as well as the chakra back from the clone. Thus, learning to utilize Shadow Clones in the gathering of natural energy could be beneficial to mastering Sage Mode. There are other benefits and limitations to Sage Mode and these are as follows:

  • Senjutsu Chakra is not able to be viewed by anyone aside from other practitioners of Sage Mode.
  • The user's physical strength, speed, stamina, reflexes, perception and durability dramatically increase.
  • The user's ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu become more powerful.
    • This is denoted by the prefix (Senpō :: Sage Art) being placed in front of the chosen technique
    • Any one user may have up to five (5) techniques that are capable of becoming Senpō :: Sage Arts.
    • Such techniques are always considered to be of S-Rank.
    • Only Techniques of at least B-Rank are capable of becoming Senpō :: Sage Arts.
    • Such techniques are limited to the number of times they may be utilized, based on the derived Jutsu's rank, before the technique disperses the user's current Sage Mode.

      • Derived Jutsu of S-Rank = One (1) Sage Art use
      • Derived Jutsu of A-Rank = Two(2) Sage Art uses
      • Derived Jutsu of B-Rank = Three(3) Sage Art uses

  • The user gains the ability to sense chakra around them.
  • In order to gather enough natural energy to initiate the transformation into Sage Mode, the user must remain perfectly still. Because of that, the user can be an easy target for an opponent.
  • Because the user needs to move during combat, the senjutsu chakra cannot be replenished during combat, which means the user can't stay within this state for extended periods of time.
  • After Sage Mode has ended, the user appears to experience exhaustion.
